Mother Nature never gives you the same weather patterns or the same growing seasons, so the wine from the same estate will be different from year to year. Then you will more than likely blend each vintage differently giving each one a unique taste and flavor. The near-perfect 2016 growing season started early, saw ideal weather conditions throughout and wrapped up as the valley's first significant fall rainstorm arrived on October 14. Thanks to a relatively steady and mild July and August and then a series of warm days at the end of the growing season, vineyards were able to progress to perfect ripeness.
The 2016 Cobalt Cabernet Sauvignon expresses vibrant and lush Spring Mountain fruit with subtle nuances of baking spices, dark fruit, and integrated oak, with a subtle dark chocolate finish. The complex structure of this wine is rounded and refined by 28 months of barrel aging. This blend exhibits the balanced and terroir-drive wines that we strive to produce vintage after vintage.
